The new Buddy program of the 2023 spring term is open now!

Maybe you know the problem yourself: You are abroad in a foreign country and all your friends are internationals who are also new at that place. The locals stay kind of invisible and getting to know some local people seems hard. A lot of foreign Erasmus students here in Karlsruhe have exactly this problem and want to get in contact with more locals. For that reason, we started the ESN Karlsruhe Buddy-Program.

Buddy... what?

With the Buddy-Program every international student gets paired with one German student and those two are then called “Buddys”. We from ESN Karlsruhe are doing the matching and transfer the contacts. What you are going to do with your Buddy is completely up to you. For instance, you can meet for a coffee, teach them some German, play frisbee, cook something together or show them Karlsruhe’s party scene.

So how does that sound to you? Are you interested in becoming a Buddy and getting friends with an international Student? Then you can register for our Buddy-Matching.

Hint: This is a Buddy-Program for EXCHANGE students. That means you will get a Buddy for one or two semesters. If you are interested in a full degree international Buddy you might consider the Buddy-Program from KIT

The matching starts a little earlier this semester so you can meet your Buddys as soon as they arrive in Karlsruhe and help them with their first steps. During the international O-Phase in March we are going to do a Kick-Off event where you can get to know each other in a nice atmosphere.
